Responsible for the daily running and administration of the
nursery.
Your main responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.
- Offering all children opportunities with regard to their
religious, racial origins, gender or disabilities.
- Ensuring effective staff recruitment, supervision of staff and
organizing regular staff meetings.
- Supervision of the planning and preparation of activities to
develop all aspects of the child's individual development.
- Ensuring that the preparation, care, cleanliness and
maintenance of the nursery playrooms, kitchen and equipment are
carried out according to the policies and procedures and risk
assessments.
- Administration and finance of all nursery activities.
- Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment
records.
- Arranging regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends
and children's outings and ensuring effective marketing.

A very experienced Nursery Manager is required for a lovely
small Nursery located in Dulwich
You will have managed a Nursery previously and understand how to
get the best from your staff team.
This Nursery is seeking a competent and professional Nursery
Manager who can inspire confidence in parents and staff and have a
stabilizing and reassuring influence on the team.
You must have a good understanding of how to manage a successful
Nursery in a highly competitive area of London for Nursery
providers, maintaining occupancy levels and meeting targets for
staffing budgets, marketing, etc.
You must have a pro-active approach and a can-do attitude, with
good organizational and delegation skills, as well as a real desire
to take on a challenging, but highly rewarding Nursery Manager
opportunity.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- To achieve and maintain high standards of care and
education
- To effectively lead and manage the staff team including
recruitment and retention, providing day to day guidance, training
and support to all staff
- To ensure all policies, procedures and curriculums are
implemented and adhered to at all times
- To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends
- To effectively manage the budgets and occupancy levels
- To implement an effective parent liaison programme, to be
influential in developing strong links with parents.
- Knowledge of childrens act
- Basic food and hygiene certificate
- To manage all day to day operations of the nursery
- To keep a register and up to date records of all children using
the Day Care provision and to give regular feedback to parents /
General Manager about their child's development and progress.
- The post holder will be responsible for management, supervision
and appraisal of the following staff, Deputy Manager, Supervisors,
Nursery Assistants, Level 2/3 Workers, Unqualified / Level 1/2
Workers
- The Nursery Manager must work to Nursery policies about Keeping
Children Safe, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and
Confidentiality.
- The post holder must carry out his/her duties with full regard
to the setting's Health and Safety procedures
- Liase with Local Authority and other professionals associated
with the Nursery.
